- 7 “basic” levels: 學員級 ( Hok Yuen Kup ): 1 – 7 Cup ( Ji )
- 6 Master levels: 師範段 ( Si Fan Duan ): 1 – 6 Duan
- 3 “advanced” Master levels: 師傅段 ( Si Fu Duan ): 7 – 9 Duan
“Basic” levels – 學員級 ( Hok Yuen Kup ):
- 1 Cup – 學員一級 ( Hok Yuen Yat Kup ) — one green strip at the ends of the black belt — |

IWCO official uniform:
- Black T-shirt and black pants with white characters (inscriptions) for the levels: 1-7 Ji
- Black T-shirt and black pants with red characters (inscriptions)for the: 1-6 Duan
- Black Polo and black pants with yellow characters (inscriptions) for the: 7-9 Duan
- Belt ( color and stripes corresponding with levels)
Belt:
- width of the strip – 1,5-2,0 cm.
- Distance from the edge of the belt – 4-4,5 cm.
- The distance between the strips – 1 cm.
Form ( belt, T-shirt, pants) – reflect LEASED rate at which a diploma (certificate) issued.
Syllabus Overview
Fundamental phase: the practitioners learn the basic elements of close-range sticking body short strikes martial art (requirements of body, hand and footwork, and its distinction from long range boxing methods).
- Siu Nim Tau: body structure, direction of releasing power/energy, single-hand and double-hand offensive defensive combination hand techniques.
- Chum Kiu: basics of stance-turning, body method and fundamental footwork; understanding distance in close range fighting
- Single Hand Chi Sau
- Double Hands Chi Sau (Poon Sau)
Second phase: the practitioners learn to apply the elements of close-range sticking body short strikes fighting taught in the fundamental stage against live opponents and the wooden dummy.
- Solo Training and Partner Practice of the following San Sik (separate techniques)
Dai Nian (Big Training)
Siu Nian (Little Training)
Biu Chui (Darting Punch)
Sam Jin (Three Arrows)
Lan Kiu (Barred Arm)
Sheung Long (Double Dragons)

Third phase: the practitioners apply the learnings from the first and second phases in practical fighting scenarios and learn the combination of aggressive movements to outmaneuver the opponent.
- Biu Jee: Aggressive Fighting Techniques, Spiraling Explosive Power

Fourth phase (elimination): the practitioners master only the essentials. To quote Lao Tzu, ”He who devotes himself to learning seeks to increase his knowledge; he who devotes himself to “The Tao” seeks to diminish his doing.” Practitioners will learn two neigong exercises (internal skills methods) that encapsulate the totality of Dr Leung Jan’s Boxing system. As the saying goes, “When you understand one thing thoroughly, you understand everything”
- Internal Skills Training is not mystical, it is a specialized practice focusing on coordinating our breathing with our internals, hand, body and footwork to optimize the potentials of human body mechanics where each movement will now exhibit multi-directional force vector, elevating and enhancing the quality of the movements.
