The objective of this course is to dispel the misconceptions that “Ip Man” Wing Chun and “Gulao” Wing Chun are two distinctive styles by analyzing:

• the relationship between frontal and angled stances through boxing principles (拳訣);
• the relationship between frontal and angled stances through hand techniques;
• the shoulder serves as the meridian in the angled stance (偏身以膊為子午);
• the key techniques for close-range striking and entering.

This course will cover Gulao’s twelve separate techniques, their partner exercises and their association with the three empty-hand forms and one wooden dummy form represented by Ip Man.
